How safe is the parking area with ticketing machine?..

We always heard or been told not to leave the parking ticket in the car just incase someone steal your car and can easily drive it out... but does it really that safe? well lets see..

what if the thief drove a car into the parking lot, and ofcourse by doing this he also will had to get the ticket from a machine right?.. let say he got a another accomplice
with him.

So by doin this his accomplice
can break into your car and using his own ticket to pay for the parking fees and gone within seconds

and as for his own car... well how much is the fined for a lost ticket? rm20? rm50? and even with all the details he had to give to the parking operator.. it is still not a problems as that car is his...

so a mere rm20-rm50 for a car...

Well i guess the best way is to and must install some sort of security systems in your car.. i guess anything is better than nothing...

After waiting for almost a week... i finally cant stand it anymore.. my car is damn dirty.. with dust, water mark, leaf, bird 'bomb'.. so i decided to wash it...

Got a bucket, rubber water pipe, some cloth and went straight to the car wash area... wahh very 'semangat' my own bubble wash... then rinse like no body business... emm well its the management water anyway.. and i did pay maintanance fee!... , scrub the rims/tyres and everything..

Then drove up to my parking lot at the first floor and start to wipe the whole car.. spend some time on the front and back windscreen using the 'rain-x' product... duh.. its very hard work.. need to polish it till crystal clear..

and finally after spending like 2+hrs.. its finally done... look at it from afar and very satisfied with the result... black n shinny...

Then.. after 10mins later........... its raining .... again.... sigh~

.
.
.

Sigh~ heavy rain....

The sky is so dark.....

Cant even see KLCC or KL tower anymore!

-And it seems like after i make this posting.... the newspaper also post about it too... heh The Star

Well this is not much of DIY anyway.. just some photo of my shinny clean chandelier hehe... actually i was taking some photo of the wall and suddenly noticed wow! so many dust.. and even got a corpse on it!... well flies corpse hehe so decided to clean it... and take some photo of it after that and it turn out very nice too... so here it is.

Ok, now to put some decoration on the 'red' wall.. or more like picture frame... last week went to Ikea with my wife to look for something for our house and i found this nice little picture frame which matches our concept of having black and white decoration on the 'red' wall.

Picture frame from Ikea

But since i doesnt just want to put photos on it, was thinking of something more creative or cute maybe.. i kept it for almost a weeks till today while we were in Tesco ampang i saw a shop which sells survenior and decided to check it out.

And i was not dissapointed, as i bought 2 handphone strap doll which was make from 'pvc leather?' and kinda cute too.. most important thing its red, black and white

And now i can continue to finished up the wall......

I wrap the back part/cover of the picture frame with some wrapping papers... actually my wife found it from some leftover hehe

Then i rearrange both of the doll in it and well its fit perfectly... yay..

Cover it back

Turn it over and check.. hmm seems ok... nice...

Hang it on the wall...

Some of the picture frame (with women picture on it ) where bought from Jaya Jusco some fews month ago... and i dont think they sell it anymore as i was looking to buy more buy doesnt seem to find it anywhere...

Luckily i did bought a fews with difference colours (black and white) and sizes

Well this wall is considered done.. unless i found something else to put on it.. hehe.. and also just need to put some 'actual' photo of our life in it..

Well its time to paint the other wall which is near the dining area and otherside of the rooms

As you can see the wall used to be blue.. kinda getting bored now.. nothing striking...

So i decided to paint it red!... we always sees this kind of red on interior/decor magazine, but actually how many peoples actually done it on thier house?.. well not many i can say.. so far i havent seen it on any houses i've been yet... not saying none at all.. just not many

Starting to paint the first layer

Opsss!.. why like this???? dont worry... the paint is not dry yet thats why..

And here it is... all done n dry... next.. gonna decorate it

D.I.Y Curtain

Its time to change the curtains. Got my curtains from Ikea for rm99 perset. Well considering its ready made... save lotsa time cutting, sewing.. not to mentions buying the fabric.. which will cost around the same price.

But ofcourse thing is just not that simple, buy and hang... well here you can see its kinda too long... so some altering is needed.

Firstly, hang it up.. measure the curtain and mark where to cut and fold it

Then iron the fold so that it is folded properly

Next use the hemming strip (some kind of plastic that melt and stick on the fabric when you iron it) inside the fold.

Re iron the fold with the hemming strip inside on high heat.. and you will notice the fold will stick together.
Then cut the away the extra fabric and re-iron just to make sure it stick properly

And the final thing to do is.. hang it back up...

Another view of the curtains on both windows

Now as i got 4 pieces of fabric to cut.. there seems to be alot of left-over... and the pieces is not small too... if throw it away its kinda waste of money.... then i saw my wife pass by so i grab her and....
.
.
.
.

Hehe... dont waste a good fabric... i wrap it around my wife and think.. hmm it look nice.. maybe we can do something about it... but thats another project hehe

Another D.I.Y project, changing the bathroom shower system

As you can see the bathtub only came with shower unit which means i need to throw the shower into the bathtub to fill up the water... very messy work

So i decided to add a tab on it, so some modification is needed.

Got the tab on place, simply yet practical

Got a new shower unit from JJ home at 1 Utama, cost me rm99. Well some might said why so expensive? just get the Carrefour one with only rm20-30+, but i can tell you i got 1 before from carrefour which cost around rm30, but before i can install it, the damn thing broke. so no more cheap stuff

Now the complete installation.... ok now getting ready to take a shower.. yay

Yesterday, went to Ikea with my wife and suddenly saw a light unit which looks cute yet very bright.. actually it's the inside cabinet light... but suddenly i remember my car glovebox doesnt had any lighthing in it... so i tot to myself this should solve my problems of having searching inside the glovebox at night.

As you can see the glovebox is without any build-in ligthing... even its not that big.. but looking for something at night is abit frustrating

And there it is, the light unit call Jappling, from Ikea.. cost about rm5 i think, dont remember... getting old.. bad memories..

It uses 2 AAA batteries and got an on/off switch at the back, and the side there is a push off/on button, meaning when the button is push in the light will turn off and when release the light will turn on.

The unit came with 3 screws and a double-sided tape, since i doesnt want do make a hole on my car i decided to used the double sided tape, but if you are installing it on a wooden cabinet, the screws is better option.

After decided where to stick it, the best place is the side wall of the glovebox as when you close the door, it will push the button and turn the light off.

Another view of the light inside the glovebox... so bright ahh...

Well, tonite is the 14th day of 7th month of chinese lunar calender (14/8). Which means it is also a very important day for chinese peoples.

This is the day where all the three realms of Heaven, Hell, and the realm of the living are open. And this is the day where all the ghost wonder around looking for food as this is also call as Hungry Ghost Festival on this night also offerings are given to the deceased by preparing ritualistic food offerings, burning incense, and burning joss paper and other fine goods for the visiting spirits.

It is also said that on the day or importantly at night;

- Dont go swimming as evil spirit might cause you to drown.
- Dont wandering around the street at night as some spirit might follow you home.
- Dont speak of something not nice, such as 'go to hell', 'Die' etc..
- Dont be nosey/busybody when you see peoples burning incense etc by the road side.
- Dont go to cemetery
- Dont wear bright/red colours clothing, as some spirit might get attracted/jelouse of you.

Well frankly speaking... there is alot more... so the best thing is.. go home early and stayed at home!

The Story from wiki

The Buddhist origins of the festival can be traced back to a story that originally came from India, but later took on culturally Chinese overtones. In the Ullambana Sutra, there is a descriptive account of a Buddhist monk named Mahāmaudgalyāyana, originally a brahmin youth who later ordained, and later becoming one of the Buddha's chief disciples. Mahāmaudgalyāyana was also known for having clairvoyant powers, an uncommon trait amongst monks.

After he attained arhatship, he began to think deeply of his parents, and wondered what happened to them. He used his clairvoyance to see where they were reborn and found his father in the heavenly realms i.e the realm of the gods. However, his mother had been reborn in a lower realm, known as the Realm of Hungry Ghosts. His mother took on the form of a hungry ghost--- so called because it could not eat due to its highly thin & fragile throat in which no food could pass through, yet it was always hungry because it had a fat belly. His mother had been greedy with the money he left her. He had instructed her to kindly host any Buddhist monks that ever came her way, but instead she withheld her kindness and her money. It was for this reason she was reborn in the realm of hungry ghosts.

Mahāmaudgalyāyana eased his mother's suffering by receiving the instructions of feeding pretas from the Buddha. The Buddha instructed Mahāmaudgalyāyana to place pieces of food on a clean plate, reciting a mantra seven times, snap his fingers then tip the food on clean ground. By doing so, the preta's hunger was relieved and through these merits, his mother was reborn as a dog under the care of a noble family.

Mahāmaudgalyāyana also sought the Buddha's advice to help his mother gain a human birth. The Buddha established a day after the traditional summer retreat (the 15th day of the seventh month in the lunar calendar, usually mid-to-late August) on which Mahāmaudgalyāyana was to offer food and robes to 500 bhikkhus. Through the merits created, Mahāmaudgalyāyana's mother finally gained a human birth.

Due to Confucian influence, the offering became directed towards ancestors rather than the Sangha and ancestor worship has replaced the simple ritual of relieving the hunger of pretas. However, most Buddhist temples still continue the ancient practice of donating to the Sangha as well as to perform rituals for the hungry ghosts.

as my wife doesnt allowed me to take photograph at the places where peoples pay the offerings, just incase something else in the photo :p
